Park Avenue Travel was established in May of 1998 by Dora Bourgault and Jill Goldie for the express purpose of providing customer focused travel services.
Dora Bourgault, our president, whose family owned a travel agency, was raised in the travel industry. Her career started at a very young age, answering telephones, and learning the business at the time the industry was not yet automated. This has given Dora a keen perspective of the important fundamentals in the evolution of the travel industry and the importance of customer loyalty and service. Upon completion of her academic studies in 1983, Dora re-joined her father’s travel agency (Europa Travel Service) which, at that time, was primarily a leisure focused travel agency. Also at this time an increasing number of companies were contacting the agency asking for assistance in managing their business travel. Using her business education, travel industry experience and deep concern for a high level of customer service, Dora began implementing a travel management program for her first major corporate client. The program included airline, hotel and car rental discounts that most corporate travelers did not realize were possible.
In time, the agency’s client base evolved to include not only an increasing number of corporate accounts but a higher demand for leisure travel, meeting and events planning. Along with a team of well trained, experienced travel consultants, Dora recognized the need to have a management partner as focused on customer service satisfaction as herself. In 1989, Jill Goldie joined Dora to help manage a growing customer base vulnerable to the now ever-changing travel industry.
Now Jill manages our North Carolina office as Vice President of Corporate Sales and excels in meeting and special event planning. Jill was trained specifically to effectively respond to the volatile and unrelenting changes in the travel industry.
